Re: How much do you care about your car's skin?

i've never washed my car since i bought it new last year. other than the 5 times after i came back from sepang coz there was insect blood all over the white bonnet. yesterday night my bro wanted to write "wash me" on my car's dirt, but gave up after the "W" coz his whole finger became black. so now i have a nonsensical "W" on my boot.

That is SO DAMN FUNNY!!!!!

My young kid... he just LOVES to get his hands black on my current Honda. After he gets done, my wife sends me to the autowash. There are tiny handprints all over my Ody when my wife is not around.

WHITE cars don't get dirty, right, racebred?

Re: How much do you care about your car's skin?

i still wash mine everytime it gets wet.... but i'm losing the battle; each time i send my car into PML, the paintwork gets raped, and there's nothing i can do about it till i collect my car days or weeks later.... bastards.

I wash the car myself
and I used to polish it myself too until I gave up this year..now Cazcomp ( using zaino stuff) is doing the job.

Occasionally, however, I do partial polishing like the fender, bonnet n front bumper after my weekly wash coz they are the most exposed surface.

Re: How much do you care about your car's skin?

When I was in university, I washed my car every two or three days and cleaned the rims with a toothbrush... but that was a long time ago.

My OCD is now manifested in other forms... :-)

These days, Porker gets washed immediately if it gets rained on (I really hate water spots on dark paint), or if it gets very dusty i.e. after a few days of sitting around.

Quattro is only driven in dry weather and gets washed once every 2 or 3 weeks.

I wash these cars myself with a bucket of clean water and no shampoo. Waxing is done by Zymol guys, anywhere between once a month to once a quarter, depending on my schedule.

525iT seldom gets washed as it's my daily driver and it always seems to be raining these days. Silver paint is also quite good at hiding the dirt. It does get thoroughly washed, cleaned and vacuumed about once a month by the Zymol guys, usually when the wife says "the car is very dirty". It gets waxed once a quarter.

Any logic behind not using shampoo? The shampoo lubricates AND lifts dirt, I suppose that's justification enough to use shampoo, right?
