Come tomorrow, PM Lee will issue "lets move on" to close the case. All the MPs will shut up and there will be no further discussion.

Anyway the pay hike is just obscene to layman like me, 33% of millions of dollars compare to 5% for the paltry sum of civil sevants.

25% of 2.5million is alot, 25% for $25000 is nothing!
but again with so much $$$ they cannot go pub party, drink & mod car hahahaha...

For the Shareholder Directors of a private corporation to raise their own salaries might be arguably a private matter, and still that is going to be looked at by IRAS and also the auditors and governed by the companies act anyway.

The usage of public funds to pay its public servants, CANNOT BE a private matter. NO SANE HONEST INTELLIGENT PUBLIC SERVANT will say that. Xkrim, make sure you don't misquote the man. Please check it. If what you said were true, I can only think that the source of the statement was the belief that some public servants have a more personal stake in the public coffers than the normal man on the street.

what is wrong with anyone saying they will decide privately what they would do with the salary increment they received? that post - #24 - is past the point of discussing if the pay hike is necessary. nothing to read between the lines either. purely a comment on how he looked. chill
