Monthly Meetup and Events FAQ!

Are you wondering where, when, and how we hold our monthly meetups?

Info:
We *usually* hold our meetups on every last Sunday of each month at 4:30 - 6:30pm. Just check your bikini/hunk calenders and see which Sunday is the last of that month! It's that simple!

You can also check out Events folder here, to confirm we are arranging for our monthly meet ups.

Our monthly meet-ups are held at the huge kallang carpark beside the Macdonald and KFC outlets in the east side, where the National Stadium is.

How do you get there?

MEETUP VENUE UPDATE ( 27th July. 2008 )

Contruction work at Kallang has tapered off significantly and thus, BMW-SG will be returning back to Kallang for our regular end-of-month meetup.

Do join us as we go back to where it all originally began!

From the Expressway :
ECP towards Changi Airport, exit at fort road, go straight all the way, make a left turn at the end and travel onwards till you see directions on how to get to the National Stadium. When you make that left turn into Stadium drive, on your LEFT, is the KFC and Macdonald's outlet. Turn left and go straight! You can't miss us from there!

However, due to the possibility of bad weather, you can find us hanging around Macdonalds. Just look out for the number of cars parked inside the premises of the Macdonalds' compound.

All marques are most welcome to join us!

So what do we actually do there?
Generally, the BMW.SG crowd will talk about their cars and display their aesthestically-modified (bodykit, rims, and some minor air filter modifications ) sedans, coupes and cabs. Technical/Aesthetic Questions and answers are often traded at the meetup. If you would like some technical assistance with installing something..or checking out a gritty problem, the enthusiasts will be most willing to help you out for free! (or a small drink which is available at Mac's drive-thru ). There are usually on average, 60-80 (yes..that many) cars at the monthly meetups.

This sounds cool man, but i don't own/have/drive a BMW...
Other marques also do attend the monthly meetup, Mercs, Minis, Nissan's, Mitsubishis...So don't be shy! Even if you don't drive a bimmer, we still welcome your presence! Many of the ex-BMW owners still join up with us, and we have had many pre-BMW owners too. So really, feel free to join us.

After the meet-up, members will sometimes group together for a convoy down to a location for some dinner. So join in in you can.

But i'm new! And i don't know anyone... however i would really like to join in.
Well, no worries. Make use of this forum (Introduction / Newbies corner) to introduce yourself and get people to know who you are, and your ride. You'd be surprised how many people link up with long-lost friends on the forum. Or else, you could always turn up at the meetup and ask around for folks like Alan (Piggyboyz), Sam (Azrielsc), Shawn (Racebred), Alvin (Puny) or Me (Ryan)if you feel shy. Trust us, we're friendlier than we look. Heh heh

How To Make The Best Use Of The Meetup Sessions
The meetup sessions are best experienced by YOUR participation! Don't be shy to talk and say hello! All of us will be willing to share any bit of information, feedback & ideas with you, as long as you take action to say hi!

We've also noticed that people who have enjoyed themselves during the 2+ hour session, are the ones who have gone around making a lot more friends, compared to those who stand around and expect people to say hi to them in the first place. So join in and make that first step to say hello

Please be reminded that dramatic entrances and "fast-and-furious" taxi rides are STRONGLY discouraged. Please drive in slowly and do not be a public nusiance/danger to yourself, and other road users.

On behalf of the BMW.SG Admins and moderators, we kindly urge everyone to be considerate towards other public road users. We do not need to attract un-necessary and negative attention. For members who like to show/experience different cars/models/mods, please take the taxi rides outside and away from the meet–up area.

BMW.SG Events (Mass drive/convoy/technical talks)
From time to time, the BMW.SG Administrative group will organise outings whereby BMW.SG members are most welcomed to join. E.g. The most recent event was the drive up to Malacca. We also have had events which included Technical talks held in PML. Other events may include PML's ADT/IDT courses and their own organised events. Members will be informed via annoucements or notifications via this forum. Do keep in touch to find out what's happening!

Please do take note, BMW.SG is NOT affliated with PML(Performance Motors Limited) or it subsidaries in Singapore in ANY WAY. Although sometimes, we may tie up some events like technical talks with the great folks in PML. This will be stated very clearly. Do check out our Disclaimers page to have a good idea what we're really about.
