The service adviser and technican that took care of my car are local leh. But they are a bit funny. Right rear light (cracked cover) need to pay has ready stock and can be installed right away. Rear left light (malfunction) under warranty need to wait 2 weeks and have to return another day for repair.

Re: BMW Portable Naviagation system

Wow! Then this is indeed true : " Money talks!"

It is quite common within the car industry.. as often the servicing people, are asked to indent for parts via warranty code.

As they will try not to mess up their "sales" inventory .. imagine, they have to do some paper work to change it to a warranty part... and sometimes.. if they just let go... the factory may deem it not a warranty part so PML got to "chia kar kee" - eat in on themselves...

So all these hassle, of paperwork, lah.... etc... therefore, servicing people have their warranty indent system.. I think so, lah! I am no expert.. just my .2 cents worth...

Re: BMW Portable Naviagation system

Overall, I am quite lucky!

My bluetooth connection is good and clear! As good as my previous dedicated nokia car bluetooth module. So no complaints, here.

For navigation, I avoided using the outdated Garmin maps but used those from Malsingmaps.com and or Malfreemaps.com. And in addition, the voice modules are "updated".
Here, you can still hear the noise ratio, in-between annoucements, can't be help, but overall, reasonably clear annoucements.

No regrets. Can live with it - 4 me...

Will probably call up my SE tomorrow. Got my E90 FL last fortnight.

Hi Mambo,

YOu are considered lucky, next week you can get the problem fixed.

They supposed to call me, but have yet to call me. If I call them and they will say " I was about to call you".

Tried of PML. Should have chosen a C instead.

Thumbs up Re: BMW Portable Naviagation system

Just got back my car.

Navigation system pretty loud and CLEAR.

Bluetooth with Mobilephone now works almost perfect.

They change the AUDIO CONTROL the old version is faulty.

New E90 do not have this problem as they are install with the new model audio control.

So if you are getting bad feedback hiss sound, u must have got the old model, takes 2 days to fix.

I must say mine Sales and Service Adviser do a pretty good job as best as they can , only PML is a bit frustrating at times.

Re: BMW Portable Naviagation system

Wow! Takes two days? What they do, strip down the whole front dashboard of the car?
