Gruppe M virgin drive. :)

Just got my Gruppe M fitted at Boss today.. as always awesome service from Nic and gang.

Pictures:

My baby, exterior view is perfectly stock.

Front view, again perfectly stock:

Engine bay with Gruppe M and BMS tuned 4-potter.

Close-up of Gruppe M airscoop. Silly me wanted to fit another one.. hahahaha..

One last pic, this time of my Eisenmann Sports peeking shyly from under my rear bumper. The E92 LCI has a slightly longer bumper. Not ideal, but sound-wise still nice.

Ok pictures out of the way, now my "review" based on my limited experience driving from Sin Ming to Pasir Panjang. Route taken was Sin Ming->Marymount Road->Adam Road->Queensway->AYE->Prince George's Park Road->Pasir Panjang Road.

Low-end torque loss: There is a small amount of low-end loss below maybe 2500 rpm.. but it's not significant and not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. In any case it's much, much less than I initially feared. Even one of the Boss techs told me last time that he expects the low-end loss to be quite jialat. Happy to report that this is not the case.

Induction sound: It starts with a low growl at 2,000 rpm above, getting louder and louder with the RPMs and really roars at 4,000 rpm and above, with a hissing sound at very high RPMs. The sound is really orgasmic.. If you ask me, the sound itself is worth the money.

Engine revving: the engine seems more willing to rev now.. easier to hit high RPMs than before. I base this on my experience of about 2,000 km of driving between my BMS tuning and fitting the Gruppe M's today.

High end gain: Yes acceleration is definitely better at high RPM (due to the less restrictive airbox?) and overtaking at medium to high speed is much better due to the ram-air.

Between the induction roar,my eisenmann exhausts and typical bimmer solid construction.. I hit 140 on Marymount Road without realizing it..

Meeting Rod tonight to do ignition upgrade.

Haha yeah man can't wait to make the trip to R2D to hear the induction roar again. Actually my outside stock look is not by choice. Wifey loves the way the car looks so don't allow me to even change rims.

Cool. Wolf in a sheepskin. Kekeke.

Btw, hv u considered putting velocity? I believe it will make the ride even more responsive.

Re: Gruppe M virgin drive. :)

Nicely done. You got all the basics covered; intake, exhaust, tuned engine, etc...

You are good to go BUT you got to lower the ride man....
