What is done at 100K servicing

Hi all,

My car is past PML 3 years warranty... now reached the 100K mark and due for servicing as light is alerting. So thinking of taking it to BVO or J4C for the servicing.

Can brudders here advise what is involved at the 100K mark? Any major replacements needed or not? Last servicing was done at 70K and in Dec 2003.

Cheers

Bro, I dun think there is a hard and fast rule. Much depends on what is the wear and tear on the particular car. U might as well leave it to BVO to advice. They won't ask u to change what u need not change. Basically, if it ain't broken, dun fix it.

Thanks T6 for your good advice again.

My lowbeam light just kaput yesterday and now really itching to go with Xenons or the cheap option of bulb change (using Philips D2S 6500K).

What are the pros and cons of going real xenons vs just a bulb change apart from the costs savings? Will there be any error code if just bulb change to the 6500K ?

Is yours Xenon ? So far no chance to see any E39s with xenons.

Of course going for the Philips white halogens would be a much cheaper alternative since only $65 per pair and one to one exchange for your present bulbs. For xenon including install, u have to pay 10 times more. I have installed after-market xenons. The xenon bulbs are accompanied by ballasts. So changing to xenon is not juz a case of changing to xenon bulb. It includes installing the ballasts which are packaged with the xenon bulbs.

Xenons have much longer bulb life and shd last the duration of your ride if installed properly. Philips white halogen bulb creates the white colour effect juz like xenon but it does not have the throw. When seen from a distance or from rear view mirror looking at the car behind, u can tell whether the car has xenon or not. Stare at the larger Lexus and new Passats on the road and u will know what I mean.

Error code wld be the least of your concern as scanning tools like the one BVO has can rectify that. In my case, BVO basically programmed and tell the car that it has xenons so the error code did not appear anymore.
