GROUP BUY - Motorsports Video Camera VIO POV.1
Details here.. V.I.O. -- Products -- Digital Products
I've used the system before and the picture quality is great in all lighting you find on track, sound quality is good, and the thing as a whole is extremely easy to use, compact, and hardy. I've tried running standard vid cams with external camera heads and mics, and it just is a big mess vs this solution. I have some high resolution clips in auto racing application but I cannot post is because it over 1 gig, and also because it is not supposed to be distributed. The demo clips in the sites listed above and below should suffice, but if you want to see the clip live I can meet up with you..just PM or email.
Read independent review. Helmet Camera Central » VIO POV.1 Review: The Holy Grail of Helmet Cams - In Depth POV.1 Review with Video
The TAG feature IMO is extremely useful. Solid state great. Easy to setup to check your driving line in conjunction with data, or just alone.
Add name if interested..

I think Arj's heavily modded GT3 has this set-up. How much is the GB price?

Re: GROUP BUY - Motorsports Video Camera VIO POV.1
Sorry for the delay, was working out pricing with VIO.
Looking at 680 USD per unit (taxes already included), but better savings on shipping in bulk. I'd like to get 5-10 people in on this group buy. I'm not in a particular rush, but I'd like to have it before 28th July for the trackday.
I took a closer look at the videos on the official VIO site and they do it no justice really. It's probably how they compress for web uploadability (those small file size streaming things suck). Again, if anyone wants to take a look at uncompressed quality in full resolution, let me know and I'll show you live on my computer.
Feel free to ask questions, but really the two sites listed in original post cover just about every technical detail.
