As what a few of us brought up, if you re-tapped the thermostat yourself, it is irreversible. However, if you decide to pay US$80 extra, you will get a re-tapped one and you can keep your OEM if you do need to convert back to stock.

I am trying to find what's the price for an OEM thermostat and if re-tapping it ourselves is an alternative solution.
