Matching trunk lights for LED tails..

Hi folks.

For those of you who fitted LED tail lights to their facelifted E46 sedans, you might be bothered by the fact that the trunk lights do not match the LED's like a coupe. The top half of the trunk lights are white and they break the lines of the LED's, as seen here:

So what I did was to paint them to look like a coupe's.

But now that the matching trunk lights are here, people with sedan LED's can just go out and buy them. A comparison between OEM trunk lights and matching trunk lights for LED's

A comparison between the matching trunk lights and OEM trunk lights painted to match

In person, the matching trunk lights look much better than the painted ones. So sedan LED tail people, this is a small little mod that makes your rear look even cleaner if you're interested.

Re: Matching trunk lights for LED tails..

Call up BVO and ask. They're roughly 1/2 price of OEM ones.

Re: Matching trunk lights for LED tails..

I suppose these OEM covers are made in Taiwan or China. Just wondering if the colour will change over the years. Usually, the translucent nature of the plastic will turn "blurry", like what we always see on Taxis and lorries.

One option is to be able to change the cover, instead of the whole LED set.
