Mini Makeover

Hi guys.

It's been some time since I did anything to keep my car looking fresh, so I sent it in to Angie's for a mini makeover.

Before I say the things I did to the car, maybe it'd be fun to spot the difference with some before and after photos.

Re: Mini Makeover

Vic, no big secret lah.

I simply got them painted at Angie's.

There was one issue though. After the window trim was painted gloss black, there was plenty of creaking. Spent one whole day troubleshooting. Took out the trims, pasted some rubber tape on the mounting points, changed a whole new set of clips (20 of them!)... nothing worked.

At last, went over to BVO and asked David. He passed me some gel spray and told me to spray it onto the parts of the door seals that come into contact with the window trimming and polish the trimming real good.

Did just that, and VOILA! All creaking sounds just disappeared! Expert joo si expert.

Anyway, he says this is very common with painted window trimmings. So to those who are thinking about doing this, don't panic when this happens.

Re: Mini Makeover

I thought it looks more happy, with the big smiling mouth and all. No?

Maybe I'm weird.

Re: Mini Makeover

I see, so you went the spray painted route with all the chrome trims sanded down lah.....

interesting that this layer of gel could solve the problem....presumably it could work as an added protective layer as well as I heard that painted trims are prone to chipping?

What about the kidneys? also spray painted?

looks like a really good job done, the trims look like the real stuff!

Congrats!
