Info on the 5th place BSA Radical (and some on the other Radical that turns out was running 200cc less at 1300cc vs BSA's 1500cc motor). There is also more very good info on the fight for placing in final few hours of the race.

BTW guys, there is a very nice Merdeka 2003 summary video coming up real soon

To prepare in advance for kickass video that is coming, please download http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/soon.avi and if you can see the text and hear the awesome engine, then all is good.

If not, get latest divx codec pack from www.divx.com and install it now.

Sorry about the amateurness of the footage and editing, we're still learning stuff and working with low level equipment. Will get better as we learn. Thank you Ryan for all the patience and hardwork.

First, please make sure you can see the text and hear the audio smoothly on the test file... http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/soon.avi . If you cannot, then go to http://www.divx.com and download the latest divx codec pack, install it, and try again. If it works then proceed.

The main video is 50mb and located at http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/merdeka2003.avi

Since most of us are enthusiasts, I thought that raw fly bys would be appreciated too. Here are some of the best ones put into a clip. What you see is the Team Meritus GT3 (White with yellow stripes) Amprex M3 GT, the Naza Racing Team GT3 (Yellow), and the Team Jaseri-Crest GT3 (White and green). #17 Meritus GT3 sounds like it has big brass knuckles rattling about somewhere... such an awesome noise. And there's nothing quite like the Amprex's high compression, high revving straight 6, screaming out a straight through side exhaust right into the pitwall just 15 feet out. http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/raw.avi Play it as loud as you can tolerate and it still gives only 80% of the live effect.

While here in SG we are cursed with small congested city island roads, expensive cars, COE, and unreasonable govt standards for mods, we are blessed in other ways. We're really lucky to have an F1 track nearby for practice, cheap asian labour rates (to build/modify our cars), competitive part pricing, and most of all, an annual well-organized 12 hour endurance race open to the public with 4 sensible classes (highest of which [Class O] is virtually unlimited) and entries from top cars, teams, and drivers, from Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the UK, Singapore, etc. 77 cars all running wild for 12 hours. Worldwide, not many people get the chance to compete in a proper endurance race since others like the 24 hours of Le Mans, Bathurst 24, and 12 hours of Sebring, are really high level events.

MME is IMO, a great platform to lay all the BS aside. Lots of little cliques and groups, workshop politics... talk about who tunes the best, whether the car has a safety margin or if it is all sacrificed in the quest for ultimate power in the short term, whether or not a car is balanced, who the fast drivers are, etc. Add the strategy and management factors to all the above, and, win or lose, each can be displayed in qualifying and during the race. Everything can be settled in fair competition at the MME races. Will be great to see more SG entries since so far there's only been 2. Doesn't need big money - esp for Classes B and C. Gain experience and confidence over 2 or 3 years...move on up to class A or O. Everyone competes, everyone learns, everyone gains. More info... http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/MME03_ASR1.pdf , http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/MME03_ASR2.pdf , http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/MME03_Entry_Form.pdf , http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/M...R_Sporting.pdf , http://www.vagsport.com/shan/track/M..._Technical.pdf .

See you there in 2004

I will be there no matter what. Even if I have to fly in from Houston just for that weekend.
