Malacca Makan Discovery Trail 18-19 Nov 2006

Our makan makan discovery trail now brings us to Malacca though I am torn between the superb honey mangoes of Sungei Renggit which is in season and the teochew Or Nee of Malacca.

Majority wins and I have packaged Malacca for this weekend whereby you will get to taste kway chup, perakan lunch n desserts, chendol, authentic teochew cuisine, satay chelop, Malacca pastries, chicken rice balls, bahkuteh and whatever that we see along the way.

I was exposed to Muar otah which comes in fish or prawn fillings and its wonderful for snacks or as part of a mean. Professionally packed and temperature controlled, it will last a long time for that moment when you want to make an otah sandwich with thick chunks of fish/prawn contents.

Of course we will get to shop at the local products outlets for our gula melaka, chinchaluk, dodol, sambal belachan and whatever you may feel necessary for that gift to colleagues as souvenoirs from Malacca.

Some free time will be set aside for you to do your own thing but all will be within walkie talkie range which as usual will be loaned out free but batteries replacement not included. Bring your own if you have cos I may not have enough if group large.

Hotel room will be a clean and comfy but no frills as usual because we will only use it for that wash up, sleep and wake up. Costs have been kept low to make it an easily affordable 2 day eating holiday.

Travel will be on convoy with group participation and cooperation. Speed will be comfortable and roads will be good grade condition. Parking at hotel will be secure but as usual don forget to lock your car and keep valuables out of sight.

Package cost per person is as usual $88 per adult twin sharing and $68 per child (3-12) without bed. Covers 2 lunches and 1st nite dinner. Additional freebies will depend on I have margins or not.

Please email poolshark@pacific.net.sg or sms me 90055511/81162192 or call me 90055511 for bookings and enquiries. Bookings close this Friday noon as I have to make my arrangements.

Regards,

Albert Quek
