now that the wattage has increased significantly, so will heat generated.
will it melt any of the plastic housings and lenses?
tried some DIY on lights myself, and melted some stuff. kekeke... for increase from 5W-12WOnce a Bimmer, Always a Bimmer

That's a valid concern, I've tested it running for 10mins continuous.. no issue so far.. the tail light housing is pretty big, so heat should not be a problem. In any case, brake lights are not on continously, only intermittently. If you increase the tail light power to 21W I would be concerned because the tail lights are always on once you turn on your lights, but in this case unless the brake light is active, the tail light is still 5W only which is within design spec.. time will tell
