Re: E46 M3 CSL or E82 1 Series Coupe???

Centurion will say that 335 is a lousier car than the Cayman.

100kg lighter ?and most vital is the saving must be there as compared to 335.
i prefer the rear of the 335 than 135 but with if there is no need for space, 135 make better sense. A hot hatch turbo luxurious fast car at this price, drool

bro, unless you are married (and actually, even if you are) you ALWAYS need rear seats.

Why?

Because SHE HAS OTHER FEMALE FRIENDS!!!

Jus did some homework on the weight savings between the 335 and the 135

335= 3600lbs or 1632.9 kgs (2007 BMW 335i Coupe First Drive | Roadfly.com: Car Reviews & Road Tests)
135=3285lbs or 1490 kgs (BMW 1 Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

savings of 142.9kg

That is ALOT of weight considering the fact that 2 stock evos in a drag race the one which was 70kgs heavier lost by 3 car lengths (tested many times 3 yrs ago). Damn i think i'm stuck to the 135 for the time being till someone can advice on the 2nd hand E46 M3 issue.

Regards.

Don't think we're gonna get another M1 unless this norbert reithofer guy is a liar..

Q&A with Norbert Reithofer

CAR: In Tokyo, BMW showed a vision for a 1-series coupe with tii genes. Fact or fiction?
Reithofer: 'The response was positive. Expect to see tailormade tii packages in the very near future.'

Q: But the original tii was much more than a cosmetic equipment package...
A: 'True. On the other hand, the 135i already plays kind of a tii role within the 1series.'

Q: What about an even stronger M1 as new top-of-the-line version?
A: 'Itīs not in the plan.'

Q: The tii approach epitomises core brand values for BMW. Are your smallest models most likely to get the tii treatment first?
A: 'In terms of sportiness and vehicles dynamics, both the 1- and the 3-series are already well positioned.'

Q: Isn't the danger that the tii suffix could be seen as just decorative? CAR thinks there should be substance to back up the badge...
A: 'I donīt disagree. But we need a bit more time - to define the evolution of the tii theme and to physically develop it.'

Read the full story on BMW's tii plans in the new May 2008 issue of CAR Magazine
