Bro

I did get a M3 cab that is in good condition, low mileage somemore. Very happy that I made the decision to buy my M3 cab.

Is it possible to mod the 335 with aftermarket suspension, rims, antiroll bars, etc to the extent that the 335's handling becomes as good or close to an E46 M3's handling?

Thats great news man!

I regret to inform you that even with aftermarket suspension, rims and anti-roll bars, the 335s handing will never even come close to the E46 M3's handling. All post 2007 335s have welded differentials making it hard to install an LSD. With an LSD, I'd say it will come close to the E46 M3's handling. Without it, it wont hold a candle to the E46 M3. That much i can guarantee you. Remember an M car may not necessarily be as powerful as the 335, but on the track, its a deadly tool in the hands of the right driver. In the 335, you enjoy unquestionable straight line speed but thats beginning to wear out for me at least. You dont enjoy corners and bends like a thoroughbred sports car or sports coupe fully loaded with a limited slip differential. Trust me, its a world of difference.

I never realised that the LSD makes such a difference. The capabilities of the M3 are largely wasted on me as I hardly track my car but it is nice to know that it is a very capable car.

You dont have to track the car to feel it. Drive a 335 first, stock or modded. Then drive the M3. Remember forget about power. Take corners at your pace with both cars, overtake, etc. That sweet spot is the M3. Dont believe it, try it for yourself and see.

dusty, the M3 and the E92 335 suspension is totally different in components (only shares the lower long. ctrl arm I read) but the design philosophy is same and principle is same. The photo you show, sorry for my bad, but I don't see what you show as showing me a torsion bar suspension. From other pics: http://www.m3post.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1205933131 looks like it's multilink and almost a double wishbone arrangement.
