That's what I've been trying to say - they're tightening the screws.
What you can do is: 1. Be very polite 2. Plead with them 3. If they die-die don't wanna back off, tell them to issue the summons* *It is very troublesome (a lot of paperwork) to issue a summons and they may be disinclined to do it so if they see that you're not biting on the "coffee money" bait, they may just let you off instead. >>> Of course, if you can speak Malay, it helps <<< |

perhaps, if the police bring too many people to the authorities for bribing, their easy money will stop. So, I guess it still continues. Why kill the goose which lays the golden egg?
I heard from my acquantance that somebody just paid 50 ringgit recently. Scenario: travelling at 180, saw police in front. Followed for 5 minutes. fed up. overtook the cop car, instantly the sirens blaring and flashing me. Stopped, paid 50 bucks, asked him to radio ahead to clear the road. |
