BMW Blog had the opportunity to look at BMW M Garching's secret garage and see this exciting M3 vehicle that never made it into production: the E46 BMW M3 Touring. Profitability and homolgation were the two reasons why this car was never granted the greenlight for production. Under the hood, it sports a naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3246 cc that delivers 343 horsepower. It accelerated from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in approximately 5 seconds.

Based on its looks, it could have had many enthusiasts excited had BMW decided otherwise. It is family oriented and sporty at the same time -- two features that most car enthusiasts today are looking for.
