How to replace battery for F10 remote controller

Hey guys, I was feeling a little bit bored today so fingers get itchy, decided to open up my remote controller and explore. This guide is for F10 with Comfort Access. Very simple to do.

    Step 1:
    ----------

Turn over the remote controller, press the button and remove the key completely

    Step 2:
    ----------

Press and hold the button firmly, other than the key hole you should see another hole with a narrow depth on the right side of the button, insert the key into that hole and push it in firmly, the cover should pop up(exactly like what it is in the picture)

    Step 3:
    ----------

Open up the cover and you could see the battery(CR 2450 3V). I believe you could remove the battery easily by using a small flat-head screwdriver. And the new battery should be easily available at DIY shops and job done!

When I collected my car, I realised the remote is Comfort Access and no where I could charge my remote like my previous ride E90. So I asked my SA how if my remote battery fails and he told me to bring to PML to change battery. Lee see siao see boh... Bring back change battery and let PML chop
    Baby1M and Terenceong like this.

I thot RC supposed to be rechargable. When mine failed, i brought back thiniking it was under warranty.

Service bay staff told me need to replace battery. Not rechargable. Battery $30 plus $8 labour.

I went to bang a table inside. Lady was nice... told me softly... buy battery from Spare Parts dept and ask them to help you replace battery.

    I paid $11.

Prbably usual $3 at Popular Bookstore.

Remember my earlier experience... where PML quoted me $800 for car battery... special battery specially for BMW...

Only those like E90 will recharge the RC, there is a rechargeable battery internally. WTF $38 for changing battery, hello PML don't treat us like a fool can or not... Even $11 is quite pricy. Anyway steady la, for those bros who is not confident in this DIY, I do for you FREE. But you have to get the battery yourself(Popular/DIY shops) and come to my place hor... Seriously I just cannot stand seeing ppl getting ripped off...

That's why everytime I am free and pass by PML, I will drive by for a tea and a cup-cake. At least PML is generous in this repect. Then walk over to reception counter and aks them to waive your parking - they key your car number into it (I think IU must be registered first).

At C & C, you have to pay for tea... unless a Sales Advisor signs for it.

I didn't know we could just ask PML to waive carpark. Was told by my SA, have to sit down with SA and he/she can waive for u... My trick is instead of going down to basement carpark, I will park at the servicing bay lots. No need to pay. Security guards will open the barrier... hahaha... don't abuse this hor... later PML fix one ERP gantry there...
