My own experience with indent order in October 2011 also similar. She already warn me, 6'er no discount - lifestyle product etc etc, but she fight for me that indent stock I still only pay the same deposit as normal, and also no need advance full payment for the extra options I spec'd. Not bad, I guess - but I really wish PML gave us more options upfront, and not so long waiting time. Mine is expected to arrive after March 2012 - *wail*
How long does a customer in USA needs to wait? I don't think is 6 mths.

IMHO, it is BMW Asia way to discourage indent order. Every indent order needs to key in separately. Juz look @ how American tracks their BMW How-To: Follow a new BMW from Order, to Shipping and to Delivery

I think it's more PML trying to clear its ex stock inventory, rather than anyone (be it BMW Asia or PML itself) discouraging the buyer from indenting an order. I suspect PML gets a bulk discount of sorts by ordering certain standard specs for a range of cars. Sometimes, these standard options for Singapore are already quite highly specified - for example, my 2011 F02 was a straight forward off the rack standard spec'd vehicle - simply because it had everything I felt I wanted. Compare this with the bare bone basic F02 in the States, then I guess that's why a lot of buyers there up-option their vehicles.

What I do know is that the average lead time for an indent vehicle in the States is 6-8 weeks, not 6 months! Why the sorry lag for us? I dunno - but I reckon we can definitely do better in this aspect.

I checked Hua Yang and they are selling 118 for the price of 116 in PML. the catch is their specs is lower then PML such as no climate control or xenon lights. but for the savings of 20k i think still worth it if you don't mind to have your servicing and warranty done out of PML. resale may also be lower... consider the savings, still save $$
