Perhaps this way it will bring down the cost of the car but yet they are still able to profit from the COE, ERP, Road Tax, etc seeing that they will remain the same regardless of the price of the car. Maybe next time, car will cost $15,000 and COE also $15,000?

actually this process has always been there if i am not wrong, u can import and register a car (less than 3 yrs old) with 10 yr coe but the loan is based on the orginal reg date. also there is a 10k surcharge and the omv will be based close to the AD's cars. most of the 730 E32 are from japan and imported in the same way. recently there was a s430 which is was also imported. the key difference now is that u will have parf benefit. for such cars reg b4 sep 07 there is no parf benefit.

is the S$10K surcharge added on to the OMV, or is it added on after all tax has been calculated? Is there double tax on the S$10K?

Hi wilman, for such imported cars? what will be OMV be and what is it based on? will i be eligible for parf benefit?

Also will insurance be a problem? I am interested to bring in a car if the price is right and whether will i be allowed to export when it is 5 years old? certain doubts need to be cleared b4 i make the bold move to import the car. Ur input is appreciated
