Of stick shifts - the one I have liked the most is the RX8 as I said. Short, precise shifts. Press clutch, ram gear home!

Otherwise, my current favourite is Aston's sportshift - that's their DSG. No messing about - straight forward manual, no up or down shifting... only difference is that you use paddles instead of a stick.

Doing 140mph around millbrook (in a V8 Vantage, with both a manual and a Sportshift car) on a not-so-nicely paved road taught me the multitude of reasons why more and more manufacturers are opting for paddles instead of traditional sticks.
