Car and Driver‘s Lightning Lap takes the hottest vehicles on the market and determines a reference lap time on the difficult Virginia International Raceway with long straight lines, elevation changes, and varying corners, as an attempt to create a US version of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. To represent BMW, the M5, M6 and F30 335i were tested with 3.04.7, 3.05.2, and 3.13.2 respectively.
